Supervisor/Site Director
REPORTS TO: On-Campus Counseling Program Director
SCHEDULE: Part-time, 22 hours per week during Academic Year (46 weeks)
SALARY: Commensurate with experience, plus partial healthcare
benefits and paid school holidays and vacations.
POSITION SUMMARY
ACS is seeking an effective and professional Clinical Supervisor/Site Director
for the On Campus Counseling Program. The ideal candidate would be responsible
for overseeing clinical services on a middle school campus,
collaborating with school administration and providing clinical supervision
of MFT interns. The Clinical Supervisor/Site Director would work collaboratively
within the On-Campus clinical team. ACS holds itself and all staff to the highest
professional standards. Great hours and a flexible schedule with summer months
off.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruit, train and supervise 2-4 trainees/interns
who will work in secondary schools providing crisis
intervention and individual, group and family counseling
to students.
- Provide weekly individual and group supervision;
help plan and present trainings; monitor and summarize
statistics and demographic data; review process notes
and case files; co-lead groups; act as co-therapist
in family meetings; be available for individual or
group crisis work; act as liaison with graduate schools
of counseling, psychology and social work.
- Act as liaison with school sites and District staff,
to facilitate meeting of school and agency requirements,
and to provide a setting where interns can work productively.
- Screen referrals to the program and assign interns/trainees
where appropriate; when necessary, arrange for a PPS
credentialed guidance counselor for additional supervision;
meet regularly with school guidance team/Human Service
Team; meet, as needed, with individual guidance counselors,
psychologists, administrators and teaching staff.
- Represent the On-Campus Counseling Program internally
(to other ACS staff, Board of Directors, and Board
of Advisors) and externally (to parents, community,
donors, and graduate schools).
- As assigned by OCC Program Director, attend occasional
monthly ACS Board of Directors meetings; prepare written
and oral reports; write articles for ACS newsletter
and PTA newsletters; make presentations to United Way
and other organizations.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Licensed professional in the mental health field,
(PhD,LMFT, LCSW) with 2 years post licensure experience;
experience working with adolescents and families, clinical
supervisory experience and experience in school setting
a plus.

Clinical Intern - Bilingual
FUNCTION: Provide bilingual individual, family and group
therapy for teens and their families in a secondary
school setting, as well as crisis intervention and prevention
education.
REPORTS TO: Program Director for particular school site.
SCHEDULE: This is for the 2007 – 2008 academic
year. Recruiting starts in January on an annual basis.
Part-time, 18-25 hours a week.
SALARY: This year there is a $3,000 stipend available
for bilingual interns.

Adolescent Counseling Service’s (ACS) On-Campus
Counseling Program provides mental health counseling,
crisis intervention and education to adolescents and
their families at the five secondary schools within
Palo Alto Unified School District (PAUSD) and at Menlo-Atherton
High School. ACS is currently seeking part-time clinical
interns (MFT Trainees, MFT Interns, SW Trainees and
Interns, and Pre Doctoral Students) to work with adolescents
and their families. ACS provides excellent clinical
supervision and training. This is an ideal position
for a clinical intern looking to broaden their clinical
experience and receive high-quality clinical training.

- Represent ACS at community functions when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Individual, group and family therapy experience
encouraged
- Able to commit to one full academic year
- Fluent in English and one of the following languages,
in order of greatest need: Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese,
Russian, and Tagalog. Must be fluent enough to provide
effective therapy in designated language.
- Should have one year of related clinical experience
- Interest in working in a school setting
- Family therapy and/or experience with adolescents
are preferred
