The following are volunteer openings with Adolescent Counseling Services:
Outlet LGBTQ+ Youth Group Volunteer Co-Facilitator
HOURS: 2-6 hours per week
OVERVIEW: The volunteer facilitator works with the Outlet Program Coordinator to co-facilitate LGBTQQ youth groups in various locations, including Redwood City, Mountain View, Palo Alto, and San Mateo. These are peer social/support groups, not clinical/therapeutic groups. Some groups meet weekly, while others meet twice a month. Looking for at least a 6 month or more commitment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete facilitator and volunteer training with Outlet staff (8-10 hours, including observation.)
- Co-facilitate at least one of 5 youth groups with another volunteer or staff person.
- Allow time for facilitator check-ins before and after each group.
- Assist with distribution and management of intake forms and evaluations.
- Assist with set up of rooms, including coordinating food/snacks, seating, etc.
– Monday nights: 6-8pm in Mountain View
– Tuesday nights: 1st and 3rd Tuesdays, 6-8pm in Mountain View
– Weekly, 4-7pm in Redwood City
– Wednesday nights (1st and 3rd Wednesdays,) 6-7:30pm in Redwood City
– Thursday nights (2nd and 4th Thursdays,) 6:30-8pm in San Mateo
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be highly interested in working with LGBTQQ youth ages 10-25. Experience working specifically with the transgender community is a plus. Excellent communication and listening skills. Highly responsible and dependable. Ability to listen and guide discussions with teens. Ability to hold your own feelings and experiences until check-ins with co-facilitators. Youth group facilitation experience is a plus. Background in social justice work is a plus. Ability to be flexible and integrate into the Outlet Program and youth group culture.

Marketing and Social Media Intern – Part Time
Adolescent Counseling Services seeks an enthusiastic Marketing and Social Networking Intern who will provide part-time support for our marketing efforts. This energetic self-starter will assist with updating agency social networking feeds (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram).
This person will work closely with both the Advancement & Marketing Director and Events & Marketing Associate on online marketing-related activities and will be responsible for maintaining/updating sites and promoting and building a larger audience for our blog and social media feeds.
The Marketing Intern will also assist with writing brief marketing content for emails, website pages or social media campaigns in order to further spread ACS’ mission to the community.
Desired qualifications include: excellent writing, communication and computer skills, and experience with social networking sites. Experience in marketing email systems and event platforms like Eventbrite are a plus. This position is ideal for a highly-motivated individual who is interested in gaining experience in online marketing and internship credit through their college or university.
