UNIQUE Workshops: Understanding Issues in the Queer Experience
The aim of UNIQUE presentations is to promote best practices in working with and supporting LGBTQQ+ youth in the community.
These workshops can be tailored to the amount of time you have available and cover a variety of topics including:
- LGBTQQ 101
- California laws that protect LGBTQQ youth
- Speaker’s bureau with youth panels
- Transgender education with gender education speakers.
Due to high demand, UNIQUE Workshops are booked through June 30, 2016. Scheduling requests will resume in July 2016!
Substance Abuse Prevention Workshops
Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment Program staff are equipped to provide informative presentations about the risks of drug/alcohol use, signs of abuse, and how to help those in need. Teen Topic Presentations
Presentation topics vary depending upon the needs of the audience, and most commonly cover depression, anxiety, academic stress, and resiliency. During Community Education Presentations, participants learn about the issues and challenges facing adolescents, as well as essential skills and knowledge that promote increased communication, trust and genuine understanding between youth and adults.
