CLINICAL SUPERVISOR

TITLE: Clinical Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Clinical Director
HOURS: Full Time; Hybrid – Remote and In-Person (Redwood City, CA and surrounding area)
SALARY: $82,000 – $110,000 annually, depending on experience and licensure

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Agency Clinical Supervisor is a key member of the ACS leadership team and provides direct clinical supervision to pre-licensed clinicians (trainees, interns, and associates) across our youth-focused mental health programs. This individual ensures clinical quality, documentation compliance, and ethical service delivery while actively supporting the growth and well-being of their interns & staff. The clinical supervisor collaborates with program leadership to uphold ACS standards, promote cultural humility, and strengthen services for youth and families.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide weekly individual supervision to supervisees
  • Facilitate group supervision (weekly) and reflective case consultation
  • Review and co-sign clinical documentation (e.g., intakes, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries) using EHR
  • Ensure supervision practices align with BBS standards and clinical best practices
  • Offer real-time clinical consultation for crisis management and client risk issues
  • Communicate regularly with Program Managers/Directors to ensure integrated clinical support
  • Track and maintain supervision logs and documentation in compliance with licensing requirements
  • Participate in weekly supervisor meetings, didactic trainings, clinical team training, and other agency activities and initiatives
  • Support onboarding, performance reviews, and professional development for supervisees
  • Stay current on licensure laws, clinical regulations, and ethical standards

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Active California license as an LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist
  • Minimum two (2) years post-licensure experience (required for BBS supervisor status)
  • Prior experience providing clinical supervision to trainees & associates
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance and ability to drive within ACS sites
  • Skilled in trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and youth-centered care
  • Experience with telehealth, school-based counseling, and community-based settings
  • Strong documentation and risk assessment skills
  • Familiarity with ACS populations, including LGBTQ+ youth, BIPOC youth, and families navigating substance use and mental health challenges
  • Experience with supervising staff and interns/trainees
  • Experience working with children, teenagers and their families
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced computer skills/proficiencies in: email, the internet, Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite, Box and electronic health record (EHR)/database experience
  • Ability to create and maintain positive, productive working relationships
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, manage multiple projects simultaneously, track details and the big picture, work proactively under pressure, and handle/maintain confidential records and issues appropriately
  • Sensitivity to cultural, social, socioeconomic, ethnic, gender, and sexuality issues
  • A Criminal background check is required for hire – Must pass DOJ/FBI background check
  • TB clearance

Highly Preferred:

  • Clinical supervisory experience in school setting a plus
  • Bilingual/Bicultural Spanish speaker
  • Articulate and effective public presenter
  • Demonstrated experience with program development and evaluation

SALARY & BENEFITS:

Competitive starting salary depending on experience and licensure status.  Generous benefits package including but not limited to: health, vision/dental, life; ACS closes for paid time off – two weeks during December/January, and one week in July. PTO and Sick time accrual, ability to work remotely as appropriate. Mileage reimbursement for work-related travel and access to training and professional development opportunities. Flexible hybrid schedule depending on program needs and supervisory duties.
